Welcome to the West Cavan Camino

A community led walking experience through one of Ireland's most quietly spectacular landscapes.

Established in February 2025 as a rural initiative by the people of Glangevlin and the Glangevlin Development Committee, the West Cavan Camino is rooted in local pride, local stories, and local hospitality. With significant support and investment from Cavan County Local Community Development, and guided by expert consultants in sustainable green tourism, the Camino became a key pillar of a wider Glangevlin Development Plan — designed to strengthen the area in a way that respects the land, supports the community, and welcomes visitors warmly.

Starting from Glangevlin Hall and St. Patrick's Church, this trail winds through the breathtaking beauty of West Cavan, a place of unspoiled scenery, deep heritage, and a pace of life that still feels human. Whether you're here for reflection, adventure, wellbeing, or a simple escape into nature, the West Cavan Camino offers a walking journey that's environmentally responsible, culturally enriching, and genuinely unforgettable.
